kevs kapers 2003

just wanted to let you know that I caught your show at Woodford Folk festival and was blown away....so much power and passion still pumping through after all this time...it took me back to the glory days, yes, but what I loved was how real and "in the moment " it was ....true to your roots but still fresh and happening....it was inspiring to see and hear.......Lastly I just want to say,in all sincerity, out of all the blues/rock guys still doing it,you're doing it the best...fantastic!....no lame parody of better days, just the real business.
Thanks Jennifer that would be great. Also how do I register my interest in the next cruise if there is one this year. I'll travel down to Sydney for it. Thanks again.
.....and please, please, please, please, please, get KB back in a Sydney city pub soon
I would like to know if you would possibly be able to send me an autographed photo? I have been a fan for a long time and it would be much appreciated! Hope to see you play in Melbourne in the near future, Keep rockin' and all the best,
I saw Kev on the LWTTT special on the ABC (I think) and he was great. Goddam he looks ugly when he pulls those faces, but I guess that's his trade mark!! I haven't seen him live since December 2001 at the Woombye pub. Any Gold Coast gigs coming up? He was at the Parkwood Tavern a while back,
Was great to see Kevin with "The Real Thing" line-up at the Powerboat Club
My wife and myself used to go down and see kevin years ago when he used to play at the rocks in sydney, We both think he is one of the most talented guitar players we have ever heard it is great he is back with a bang
<http://www.asylumtv.com/>Thanks - I saw it last night! It was
great. Hope fully I'll get to the blues festival in February
I have jiggled and juggled and we're coming down to Thredbo. We're heading down on Thursday. Looking forward to cheering you on Kev.
Channel 31 Melbourne TONIGHT at 10:30pm------------What about Sydney !!
#=#=#=??????? who says no kb - seems unfathomable ..I wonder who is dictating the terms...... A lot of us fans will be highly disappointed. That's $200 that LWTTT won't get ... keep it for when he's rockin' up here.

I just read that article you sent thru. You've got some mainstream support for the unfortunate grievance that you had to face recently. I hope it pans out for you and the press coverage results in some other positive opportunities.

Tell Kev to keep his head high, theres's a lot of Pissed off people out there.
This wont be taken lightly by fans. Chin up KB, all will be ok, as one door closes another opens...truly.
Hi! Kev n crew sorry to hear about the Thredbo blues festival. Hope you are all OK. Keep on Rocken. We are listening to Big Kahoona its unreal. We found and EMI CD of KB today that rocks. keep us posted on how you are, we are worried. Take care.
GUESS WHAT? THE CDS TURNED UP TODAY, thank you Very, very much I havent stopped listning to them since I got home from work, took me back to when I was a lot younger, special thanks for the photo.much appreciated , get back to you shortly.
Sorry to hear about the cancelled LWTTT gigs?????
KB's still "The Champ!"
I'd like to buy's one of the black shirts when you get some in.
Anyway while I was in Hospital (enoying some rather pleasant legally administered drugs) I read a book by Bob Jones, the Karate Guy..... but great subject matter and I thought I'd forward you this little quote form the chapter on Rockarena. I was actually there at the Sydney show and saw KB playing with Carlos S Quote from page 284 "Let the Good Times Roll"........"added to all of this was the Kevin Borich Express. If Kevin wasn't the
he was definitely one of the best guitarists bred in Australia" (sic)
I remember many a Kev gig at Caringbah Inn over the years - sunday arvo's included. Blues Licence tour with Renee Geyer was a memorable event. Lots of other good memories too...
I was at Rockarena. God it was hot, we all got badly sunburnt. It was a great gig. Borich can stand up with Santana anytime. My girlfriend at the time. (Who is now my wife and didn't want to come toshow)) Decided to drive down later and asked the gate attendant if he could help her find me. I was only amongst 60,000 screaming fans!!PS. My wife fell in love with Kevin Borich at the Long Way show in Melbourne. He is a King.
Was just playing on my computer and thought Hey look up Kev.
So when's the next Rocks Rhythm Boat, or similar, Sydney gig? Look forward to some good rockin' soon, hopefully. Keep up the good work,
heard KB slayed them at Byron Bay with his guitar work - described it as "sic" and had the crowd mesmerised - it's great to hear that coming from a 2nd generation - but as we know he's a great guitarist
NEXT KEVIN BORICH HARBOUR CRUISE?
Hope things are going well in KB land
Just caught me on the net, wish I was going on the cruise sounds like fun, see you and the guys in a week or so.
Just wanted to wish you luck for next weekend at the Melbourne Blues and Music Festival. We have been looking forward to it for quite a while now, having bought our tickets last October when they first came out. Should be a good weekend. Look forward to seeing/hearing you then.
We are going to Goulburn on the weekend. When, where and what time is KB on? Ya 2 loyal fans..
Australian Blues Music Festival
Tattersalls Hotel Goulburn

Keeping busy I see.
Just a quick hello for old times sake.

KB taking us into Kevyspace
Good Morning, Thoroughly enjoyed the concert yesterday. Kev's set as usual was fantastic! It looked like Kev was having a great time. I was standing near you guys during Ray Charles and John Mayall. I was going to come over, but with all the hugs and kisses Kev was giving I thought I will give it a miss (just kidding). Who was the guy with the ponytail he looked familiar? Once again Thanks and Good Luck. See you in Melbourne again soon
Thanks also for the newsletter - I'll look forward to catching you again in March at the Canberra Blues Festival.
The client was thrilled.... the Saturday night capped it off. Thank you and thank Kevin for making it special for them (and especially me!). I bet some of KB's fans now manage big companies and would love to find a way of justifying having Kevin at their corporate events.
Thank you for your support for this...the venue is excited at having such a high profile act as Kevin.
great to hear your having so much fun kev. Rock it up!!!!!!
I would like to go on the mailing list. I live in Hobart and subsequently find I can't get to many shows, but would still like to see what is happening

Lovely Son - sound engineer
These guys help the KB magic happen

Steve Baker - guitar/stage tech
Long may you rock Kevin.
Look forward to seeing you again. I've had serious KB withdrawal symptoms this past year.
Cheers We'll definately be there at the Mar 21 gig at Kirra Beach.
Saw KB at the MIMBF, he was fantastic, he's like the Hendrix of Australia

Great photo man! Killer!
Yeah Kev,
You rocked our world!! Sorry I had the job of giving you "the look" and I didn't want to do it but I had a job to do. Your engine room, (Matt & Christian) were fantastic, I know Christian from somewhere (sometime) but couldn't put my finger on it. Great to see you again and finally meet Jennifer. Thanks for your co-operation on the day. I think the event can only get stronger and I was stoked to be a part of it.
Good to see you're marketing kevin a little more assertively - although i personally have always considered him one of the very best.except - mr Borich - aren't you a kiwi?hell - i've still got a scratchy old copy of the La de das 'gonna see my
baby tonight' in the collection.... - and of course, 'celebration'!More power to you Kevin!
I'll plug it tonight on the show, there will be some happy people, like Paul and a few other listeners on the Nth Coast.
I am however looking foward to geting gig info it sounds like a great show
Thank you for your support for this...the venue is excited at having such a high profile act as Kevin.
Also, do you know if KB will be touring London at all this year? Thanks
I have fond memories of Kev playing at Somerton Beach in the late seventies, one of those freebie 5KA beach concerts
having searched unsuccessfully all over Brisbane for at least six months it was with great pleaseure that I found Kevin's website on the internet and found his albums are still available....... can't believe the music stores don't have him in stock.
I have been living in London for 8 years now but recently had the fantastic opportunity to go to the Bushfire Benefit night at the Canberra Irish Club. I have been to many many of KB's concerts (so much so that he recognized me after an 8 year absentism!). I am not sure if it was my lack of good blues stimuli of late, but i felt that the Irish Club gig was the most tight and energetic that i have seen KB play, he really appeared to be having a good time.
I do think that KB and his band would go down very well this side of the world, as you would know London has a huge antipodean contingency........
On another subject - on my quest to have memorabillia of the Bushfire appeal night, i have been searching high and low for a good CD of music that was typical of what was played that night, i find that even good music shops stocking alternative music did not have any KB - why is this?
Once again thanx for your quick response to my emails, and let me know if i can be of any assistance this side of the globe of arranging KB to do some performances in UK etc. Please pass on my regards to KB from his Canberra fan who paid $100 to change her flight ticket so that she could catch his gig at the Irish Club!

KB + Matt Taylor

'Saved By The Blues'
Canberra Bush Fire Benefit

"
an outstanding night - very special"

The concert was top rate - in particular it was a magic interaction between the three statesmen of the blues. Has there been any though of doing a "coming of age" album with Dutch Tilders - with "Blues Had a Baby" now being about 21 years old.
Thanks in anticipation.
Kevin Borich came on with his new band. What a fat, tight new sound he now has. These guys had the entire place jumping for an hour, especially with his song, Saved By The Blues. Then Matt Taylor came out and joined Kevin and the band in a couple of Chain favourites before being joined by Dutch Tilders, who lead them in a jam. This was a jam of gargantuan proportions - with three Aussie blues legends on the one small stage! It was intimate and huge at the same time, and the crowd was loving it.By now it was nearly 1:30am, so Matt and Dutch left Kevin and his band to finish off with a fantastic rendition of Voodoo Chile...
May I just say what a great night out I had on Thurs 13/2/03 at The Irish Club in the ACT. I have been to more Borich gig's than I can remember and to see him again (twice in four weeks) was fantastic. The drummer and base really seamed to lift the concert to a great level and all seemed enjoyed themselves (best I've heard Kev play). Then to have Duch Tilders and Matt Taylor all together on stage made the night HUGE. Thanks heaps. I will check his web site out often.
Thanks for the Byron Bay gig info. I was going to ride down from Bris on Saturday to give it a run, but now I will save it for Sun. I will see you there!
hi k'b,loved the show.awsome rythm section.have you been working out?just caught the gig at beach hotel in byron.rapt to say the least.ive been a fan for more years than id care to mention,so im by no means a new convert, but loved the current rythm section.k'b's soul and blues fused with funk!looking forward to the next one.are these guys, didnt catch their names,on any of your recordings.
So when's the next Rocks Rhythm Boat, or similar, Sydney gig?
Look forward to some good rockin' soon, hopefully.
Thanks for the infor, ..hope the Canberra festival is a blast!!...and the email recent pics of KB are awesome ...wish there was sound with it ...it looked liked he was going off!!
Last year I had the pleasure to see Kevin Borich at the long way to the top concert in Adelaide, I was wondering if it is possible to get his autograph, if so how do I go about it.

Canberra Rock n Blues Festival

"...what's a Blues Festival without Kevin Borich!"

Great to catch up with you in Canberra . Sounding better than ever.
Great Gig Fri eve at Kirra Beach-we drove down from Montville. Any more gigs planned up this way? We've got the double cd "live at the big Kahuna"-any others with mostly blues through it? Any new one(s) planned?
Hope all is travelling smoothly, hows all the LWTTT stuff going?....any headway?..I am still in disbelief of this and how they can do it these top talents...
It was a great night and Kev and the Express were on fire
great news about KB finally getting on the Box........!!!!!! Will have a party come up.
HOWS IT GOIN GUYS, THANKS FOR YOUR UPDATES JENNIFER.PLEASE COME TO NEWCASTLE , MAITLAND OR BETTER STILL SEAHAM.I KNOW WHERE HERE IN THE BACK LOTS, BUT THERE ARE HILLS FULL OF GUITAR ENTHUSIEST OUT HERE.PLEASE COME SOON
Any chance Kev could make the Blues Festival at Byron Bay over Easter. We have been the last 5 years, and he would be close to the "IDEAL" act ....
Thanks for your continued "keep in touch"
hi wat s up i loved yua web dsite
I heard next day the locals thought it was rad , Managed to get a couple of promo posters from the pub I'll bring em to the next Sydney Gig for an Autograph
Please advise what is the date for the next cruise 2 kiwis hanging out to see Kevin after such a long time only just found out about the cruise.
Got the CDs yesterday.....Cant decide between Cadillac Walk or JLs Boogie for Wednesdays show so I'll probably play em both. Interesting track "Matilda"
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Kev on Studio 22.
GREAT to hear and I wish we could be there.
Can you tell me who the bass player was & a wee bit about him for Kevin at the Goulburn Blues Festival? We traveled over from NZ & thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
whens kevin coming to Adelaide and where will he be playing....
took Kevin's CD - to the world renowned It Ain't Nothin' but the Blues Bar - Jeff Beck was there a few weeks ago - and said the crowd loved it.
Absolutely Brill about Kevin on Studio 22. If I'm in Brizzy, I'll be cheering Kev on. Do you know at this stage when it will be broadcast?
When will the Studio 22 special featuring Kevin be shown on the ABC?
Kevvy at the powerhouse ,,, powering on ... I wanna be there ...by the Way ...... Lucius . awesome drummer ...
we would love to come and be apart of the crowd at the Power House Theatre on Monday evening. I actually have spoken to you in the past re: gig venues on the Gold COast,I saw Kevin played when I was visiting a good friend in Umina. (It would have been 2 years this August). My friend Linda is a huge Kevin Fan and I actually asked if you could get him to autograph the photo I took of Kevin and her at the Gig. (I don't know if you actually remember)
Everytime you guys have played anywhere up here we have either had something on like a wedding or something like that were we could not get out of to come see Kevin play.... we will be there with bells on....YEHYEH
Hi! Guys just browsing over your web site. Very impressive
Any dates known for touring Western Australia? Don't forget us "way over here".
received your newsletter and it made my day . another harbour cruise sounds just the ticket
Long live K.B.
Howdy and thanks for the updates. Pitty the show's being taped in Brisbane (for me anyway!). I hope to see the music special on Sydney ABC TV. Any idea when it'll show? Thanks,
you know that we are always keen to see kev and we were really looking forward to the saturday night cruise so if you are able to can you make it another saturday nighter that way we can kick on into the wee hours of the morning and not have to worry about getting up for work please please please
I've checked K.B's website, noticed he's playing at Broadbeach on May 25. Guess what?--- I'll be in Q.L.D.(Surfers) from May 15 -25. Bad news , I fly home about 11.30 a.m. So near, yet so far!!! ---Maybe next time.

just heard Heart Starter...BRILLIANT.......... Let There Be Drums is fantastic....grinnin.
KB son is GOOD. We love them all.

Have u got KB's Legend? He plays Hendrix
Can you please tell me when KB's Studio 22 appearance will be on ABC ? Thanks
Since i joined this newsletter I've been moving all over the southern part of oz - but never in the same place when you were playing - (the joys of contract work) I ended up in Adelaide, and have decided to stay here because of the excellent band I joined - and except for the ghastly tap water - not too bad a town really.......At Last Kevin's doing a town i'm in!Looking forward to the gig - be nice to see you in action again. Thanks Jennifer for doing the work and keeping people informed Mucho regards ps - you may be releived at the info that there are posters up everywhere - well - everywhere i've roamed - so the pr stuff is obviously being done
I will want to try to buy one of these Gimme Ted DVDs and see Kevin in action. Should I check with Warnervision about this?
I just wanted to know who is playing on Kev's new album and when will it be ready?
I was wondering when was kevin comming down to the Illawarra area
Nice to be updated on all the gigs you guys get to.Please come to Newcastle again. There’s a cult following for great guitar music in Newcastle .I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with the rollup. What about a instructional afternoon for the real enthusiasts on some of those techniques Kevin has up his sleeve. Love to hear from you soon. Guitar enthusiasts.
I have just been going through my very old collection of posters to prepare them for sale & I found a copy of Kevin's No Turning Back album poster.
lunched at bill wymans restaurant sticky fingers the walls were dripping with memorabilia, great meal and atmosphere. i brought hearstarter along and had it played on the house system the people from 2 tables were dancing after the first verse!! so we joined in the place was jammin. i will be seeing you on the krewse so will talk more then
Hey - 92.5 have been hammering KB all week heard today say "the Legend KB will be performing Sunday alongside accomplished guitarist Phil Manning."
I caught Kev's show at the Civic in Perth last Friday night and he was awesome!!! Its just a shame that we can't get to see more gigs of this calibre. The audience wasn't huge but Kevin played his heart out and we had a blast. Please pass on our thanks to the great man.
i was pissed off i didnt get to the video recording kev did. when will it be on abc or have i missed it .
I have just read that KB is back in Mebourne in middle June. Great News. and as the other Big Kev (In girth) says "Im Excited" I just finished playing an old LP(I can't get rid of the LP's as I have everyone of Kevs albums) "Kevin Borich Live" you know the one where he plays All along the Watchtower. I can listen to that album ten times over.... Brilliant.Anyway I hope to catch a couple of the concerts. Will say Hello if I see you. Thanks and keep up the excellant job on the site. It kicks...
You played a gig with the La de Dahs in Invercargill. Sandy Edmunds was on the bill. I remember you had a tele and were right into Jeff Beck at the time. I was playing with an Invercargill Blues group "The Unknown Blues" and you took the time to coach me ion finger vibrato technique. I thought it was a pretty nice thing for you to do. Always respected you as a guitarist and still do. Keppon keeping on. Your web site is a great idea All the Best
I used to see Kevin very regularly in Sydney and on the odd cruise but suddenly he disappeared.Very keen to see him again.Anything on before the july cruise?
I had only ever heard "JLs heavyweight Boogie" live and it was always one of my favorites...but when I got "heartstarter" I was a bit dissapointed at the first listening to the recorded version....it seems the "feel" has changed slightly and it doesnt kick arse as it does live....
I've actually interviewed Kev 3 times over the past 13 years.....wish I had a copy of the first one..it went right back to the La de Das when they first came to Oz...
My band Generation supported them in the New England area in 1968....I can remember the set list. Kev took lead vocals on I Put a Spell On You, they did a funky version of Light My Fire with congas and heaps of Traffic songs. I remember stopping KB in mid sentence when I brought up The Happy Prince. Generation actually covered "Come and Fly with Me" and 'Ruby for the Lady" Obviously there will be more of a leaning towards Oz Blues (specially that Borich character......purchase of new CD on its way)
THANKS I RECEIVED INFO THIS TIME...GEE IT IS GREAT TO SEE ALL THE GIGS HAPPENING AFTER ALL THE CR#P OF LWTTT...THE PEOPLE NEED HIS MUSIC OUT THERE AND HE DESERVES EVERY MINUTE OF THE ACCOLADES...
I'm also really lookin' forward to his new studio CD. I've got the Kahuna Cd's and also the great " Heart Starter " Cd. Fantastic !!!!!
Do you know who'll be playing drums with Kevin when he plays in Adelaide on the 19 th of June ? I'm hoping it will be his son, but no matter who his rhythm section is .... it will be HOT !!!!
Is there any info available on Lucius's band ?
I first saw KB at Berties in Melbourne ( 1970 ? ) when he arrived in Australia
with the La De Das ..... great music, great times !!!!!!! Although there's still plenty of great music and times to be found over 30 years down the track.
( Long Live Oz Rock 'n' Blues )
P.S. Really lookin' forward to hearing Wendy Saddington singing again.
I forgot to say how fantastic KBs website is. Brilliant !!!!
I went searching for info on him to find out about his upcoming gigs in South Oz and was blown out to discover the " One Night Jamm " Cd plus all the info and photos etc.
Loved the footage of KB with Carlos Santana and the photo of him with my hero John Mayall.
Tell KB to hurry up with the new CD....I need more material for airplay
Getting great feedback from crooks on Friday's show, they caught your show on T.V. on Sunday from the blues gig in Goulburn as well. They told me that after your show on Friday there was a buzz going around the Units
Just watched KB on some show about the Goulburn Blues Festival.....It was on Prime regional so I don't know if you would have got it up your way........KB did that song that was inspired by watching the cricket (on dobro) and they closed the show with a few minutes of the instrumental of Strange Inspiration....most of the TV sound was pretty ratty but without being predjudiced I'd have to say Kev rose above it and he sounded OK
how could I miss out on a chance of catching up with you guys!!!!
..Great gig at the Arkaba friday 20/6.Mind blowing work kev..Really nice to meet you both finally...Band great and tight..Can't commend the gig enough...I decided not to sell or burn my 16 guitars after seeing Kev play, but to take what I'd seen and heard and use what I could of your technique..A true lesson from the master...Hurry back to Adelaide guys.... Yours in Peace
KB has lost none of the magic, the performance last night was terrific.
I was at Uncle Neil's in Upwey (Belgrave) the other night. First time I've seen KB while I've been able to sit. The beauty of that intimate venue is that my daughter who is in a wheelchair was able to see and get excited. She thoroughly enjoyed it all. Thanks.
seen kb in melbourne in early june a great night ,bought a cd and got kevin to sign it , I have been a fan for 25 years, meeting and talking to kev was a life time highlite I think you said that you were coming back to vic in october please let me know dates and venues when you can thanks again for a wonderful night and i hope your both well all the best
Really enjoyed the show at the Raglan in Adelaide
A juke box called KEV is a fantastic idea.
It was really good to see and hear you play at the "Uncle Neil's Belgrave" Melbourne, hope to see you there again. A few friends came along who where unaware of Kevin Borich, They Loved your show and are all looking forward to your return to Melbourne.
I have been a fan of yours for many years & remeber buying your "Celebration" & "Lonely One" albums in the 1970's. I particularly love the song "Goin Downtown" & recently bought both of these albums on CD. I first saw you in 1977 at the "Rock Arena" (I think it was called) when you shared the programme with Santana, Fleetwood Mac & Littel River Band & also again here in Canberra in December last year at The Canberra Irish Club. Both shows were fantastic & I really enjoyed your performances. I've enclosed an order form & cheque for some CDs & a poster. Could you please sign the poster as well as the front covers of the CDs & forward in due course. Hope to catch your shows soon. Many Thanks.
Big fan...keep up the good work.
Hi, I saw you in concert in Hobart Tasmania, about 4 yrs ago, and have since shifted to melbourne, i seen your add in belgrave and apon looking i had missed it,
Could you please let me know by adding me to your mailing list as to when you are in concert again here in melbourne, as i thouroughly enjoyed your music
Hope to hear you in concert again
Jimi Hendrix looked down and said... That Borich Guy has upstaged me again.
Could only make one of Kev's gigs unfortunately.Caught up with you for a slight moment... you might remember. Took along a couple of mates who thought he was great. One guy is a real guru and I have given him a listen of some KB stuff which he said was OK.Different story after he saw him live... Thought he was great. Please thank Kevin for a great performance.
ta very much. We missed this trip to Melbourne, but next time....
When's Kev going to do another Brisbane River cruise? Went o the last one and it was awesome. I'm sure he could get the numbers to make it an earner
genius long live the master
I have just been checking out the site, cool man, The long way to the top scenario, those guys who kicked Kev off suck, he was one of the guys that defined that era, these producers do not know squat.
Anyway I hope things up there are good and the music is flowin'.
what's this I read about KB getting fired from LWTT tour? How can someone with his talent cop that. Did he have a bum gig, one beer too many, bad breath,? doesn't make sense.
Kev changed the way I listen to and played the guitar from when I first heard him at the age of 16 at the Bangalow (spl???) Bowling Club near Byron in 1980, for which I will always be grateful.
I've seen him so many times over the years and watched his style grow and develop to a point that I think he plays better than he every did. Despite what the LWTT mob did, he'll always be a champ I my books,
Hope you got back safely! Rock on!!!!!!!!!!!
Soon as my rego's paid I am ordering ALL the KB albums I can get hold of. I get them through you do I? Thanks for your mail.......
I had a fantastic night it was good seeing KB after so long and he hasnt lost a thing.
Im really looking forward to the 18th now.
I am a long standing KB fan going back to the Bondi Lifesaver days.
Kevin - this is the first time I've emailed you, but I've been a fan since the late 70's when I first moved to Melbourne. Some mates & I used to see you regularly back them. We try to see you every time you come to town, and this time was Armadillos. I've gotta say dude, you always put on a quality show - more power to you. I'm a guitarist/muso myself and I find your playing inspiring. I love it when you go off during your solos - I know what it's like - it's great to see someone carve it up the way you do. By the way, I'm not one of these ppl stuck in a timewarp who think that no good music has been written since the 70's, I keep up, I download (an yes, purchase) new music regularly, so I like to think I know what's going on. You've made a nice little blues-rock niche for yourself, and you still kick some serious arse. Keep flyin' that rock flag dude - we're with ya.
Looking forward to seeing you next time.
ps the jukebox is a great idea, I was devastated when you didn't play "Don't Let Go" - but I got over it... ;-) "Goin' Downtown' too (of course).
Once again great to catch up with you guys at the arkabar...I did an acoustic gig last night and the song that went down the best..(not joking) was a song called "gonna see my baby tonight."..Thanks for writing that gem Kev..It even beat "most People I know"...Keep writing them man!!
just read the latest news from KB and I'll be the first to put a song into the KB juke box before its even begun.... "Slinky"
Great idea about the juke box...
The Kev jukebox sounds like a great idea.....luckily Kev normally wheels out an oddity or two when ever he plays anyway .....i'll never forget the suprises he has thrown in on occasion like once a mammoth version of Celebration , or Tango Queen a couple of times, I Got Your Number or Snowball King occasionally and great to hear his version of All Along The Watchtower too last time round ( god even Hendrix rarely played this live....it looks like really hard work that song! )
hmmmm....but its been a while since ive heard the Kevman do the song Rock and Roll ....i might have to request that one next time round.....
Thanks for a mighty show at The Ark and look forward to seeing you rock once more in Adelaide soon....
Any plans for Kev to come to NZ? Of recent months we have had Barnsey & Ian Moss, Kev would be a blast. So how about it??!!!!!!!
When I read the lineup for Narooma it only emphasises how much they need to have KB in it !!!!! most of it pales into insignificance next to Krakatoa Kev
The "JUKE BOX" is a great idea KB!!.....for those who dont get to hear their favourites its an obvious alternative...good luck with it and look forward to seeing that on the web site....keep on creating..!!! we are right there with you....
just a short note to say thanks again for a great night in gympie, everyone we know was absolutely stoked, see you next time.
gday kev me ol fishin mate and jennifer how are yu's well i am hanging out for the kb cruise as well as the corrimal gig . Does Kevin remember playing with Sherbet in, let me think it must have been 1972 at the Lismore Community Hall. I was a spotty 17 year old on my way somewhere else and happened to see a poster advertising that show. He was unreal then and he is unreal now. I need to know where he is playing 3 weeks from the 26th of July because I have some annual leave and I want to see Kev live again.
Thankyou very much that is great.
As a matter of fact I was looking at Kevin's website last night & noticed that he is here very shortly, although unfortunately I don't think I can go to the show as I have to go to hospital on that evening for a short over night stay
the tickets arrived yesterday. We had a ball on the last cruise and as usual I can't wait to see Kev.
I have mentioned KB's Byron Bay gig on my chat group and we have 5 starters already. It is going to be a great night. Please get him to put Heart Starter on the playlist if he can
I am coming over to NSW this weekend and may be able to get to Sydney for the Cruise gig. $50 is a lot of money for a gig, but I'd really like for me and my partner to make it. Can I pay when I get there, or do I have to pay before? What credit cards do you accept? Hope to see you this weekend..........
yep, you're right a bit of "KEV" does start the day of well....
I was talking to you and Kev at the Goulburn Blues Festival. He said there was a chance that he and Russell Morris might do some shows together. Can you tell me if there is a chance this may still happen. I for one am hoping it does. Can you please let me know.
I have q few people going to the Beach Hotel on the 10th for KB's gig. Can you give me any idea of the cost of the show there. I am being asked and I don't know the answer. LOL. Thanks.........
Just wanted to say Hi and tell ya what an enjoyable night i had Friday....
I received the CD's in the mail on Friday & was over the moon when I saw that Kevin had signed each cover. Haven't had a chance to listen to them properly yet, but no doubt they'll be fantastic. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to Kevin's show here in Canberra on Friday night. Thanks again for all of your help, as it's great to see that your "idols" are also very nice people as well.
I just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed your set at West's Rugby Club last week. Hearing you rip through 'Goin' Downtown' etc took me waaay back to my student days in Newcastle, when you would play illustrious venues like the Ambassador. You can be proud of the fact that you are still creating'non - nuclear handmade' music after all these years, and still hitting the stage with more passion and energy than performers half your age. Christian and Matt have joined the pantheon of choice rhythm sections that have backed you over the years. They can hold their collective end up against the likes of Partridge & Watson, Cannon & Balbi and Kennedy & Brus (not of course to forget the 'fruit of your loins' and Rosen!!). Congratulations on yet another successful partnership in the 'engine room'. Well, I have to shoot through like a Bondi tram. Keep up the exemplary axe slinging; here's to many more KBE shows in many more venues!
Wests Rugby Club - Canberra
"What can you say - KB was having a good night and from the beginning with Snowball Queen and Strange Imagination he was on fire, pulling the most amazing facial expressions as he wrung every nuance he could from his guitar........Matt and Christian were with KB every inch of the way. And just when you thought they couldn't take it higher, up a notch it went. The dance floor crowded and as soon as someone left it there was another ready to grab the empty place. Kev's Gibson Firebird was on fire as we went through the gems; Morning Good Morning, Good to See You and JL's Heavyweight Boogie. I will give KB the ultimate accolade and admit to taking my two left feet onto the dance floor..... "
What a great afternoon rockin and rollin on the harbour. Thanks for putting it on. Thoroughly enjoyed It.Was sure nice to meet you all.
Received the poster in yesterday's mail & it is FANTASTIC. Many Thanks to you & the GREAT KB.
we arrived home and would you believe we found our KB kewl kruz tickets - do you think we could go down and do it all again !!!!????Another fantastic cruise - more than worth the trip whether KB's playing rock blues jazz or whatever genre he really rocks on the world's best harbour with the world's best band - loved it...
Had the best time on Kevs Harbour Cruise, met a cutie, was going to give him my phone number but he left when I was having my picture taken with KB.......
Australian King of Boogie Kevin Borich I grew up listening to him
Thanks for the headsup on Kevin Borich, man, this cat knows what the real blues lick is like. Heart Starter...What a killer tune and song, what a cool all around great sound and performance of the blues!
Kev is unbelievable live...out of all artists I've seen live...he's in the top 5 list.
He ain't even trying to be a guitar smart-arse in this song...but when he REALLY lets go..whoa!!
Kev is a master of listening to the groove and laying down what he thinks is necessary...very intelligent player.
Go to his Official Website Just buy an album ..I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

when is he next in melb??? cant wait. But thanks for the welcome - see you in Oct hopefully And about time you updated the bio notes - it's well over 30 years now!

just to say that you looked great and performed fantastic in the Long Way To The Top concert. I've got the DVD. Keep playing your a legend.
Best To KB
thanks for the cruise ......the drive was easy - just put in some KB CD's and before you know it your there... and some party.. on the way back "One Night Jamm" was again reinvented - our other one went missing !!??? a great CD just for a one off jam with our best musco's. Hope KB can keep producing such fantastic stuff - you'll have to bottle him....
Well last night was the best I have seen for years of any group any where, so yep you missed a great gig. Kev was just plain awesome!!!! Hendrix would be proud of the 2 numbers that were absolutely nailed to the wall! I could go on and on, but I am sure you know what I mean
....finally got some spare time to watch Disc 2 of the Gimmee Ted show.........KB sure put in blistering set who was the young guy on bass.........you knowI've spoken to 3 people in the last week who have just recently become aware of the brilliance of KB and these are fellow musos..
Forgot to ask yesterday- any idea when K.B. is on studio 22 ????
thanks for the info - when's Kev going to do another Brisbane river cruise? Last one was awesome (especially with his son on drums) and we want to go again....
Hope you're well.. I'll catch you guys at Gympie....
I visited your web site. My compliments for an excellently designed site. Good design, neat layout and excellent presentation - your site has it all.
tell him to give the people what they want, namely KEVIN BORICH EXPRESS on a harbour cruise through newcastle
.....I also saw Kevin Borich at the Basement, and boy was he loud! But I heard every word, and every note, and it didn't hurt, and I stayed till 3.00am!
I was lucky enough to get up to Byron Bay on Sunday where I witnessed Kevin Borich at his best. What a great show. Came home with all his albums purchased from the lovely Jennifer. Thanks darl. I have been without his music for too long. Wish I could get down to Shellharbour this weekend. I have been singing Heartstarter all day. Hehe. Don't know if photo's are allowed on here but here is one of KB and another of Matt Perrin. You did a great job Matt.

KB

Beach Hotel
Byron Bay

It was a great show the other day. We all really enjoyed it..
It was amazing how all the young ones were rocking to his music too wasn't it. KB's music will live on forever. I have really been enjoying my CD's. Love it. It is all about feeling good inside isn't it.....
Just a quick note to say what a great Big Daddies gig it was at the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Newport, the other weekend. All the excellent sounds, friendly crowd, a hot young keyboard player and, of course, Kev's great guitar work. Really loved the boppy last song on the first set, too.
Keep up the notification of future gigs and we'll see you next time...soon I hope!
i have been following kevin for a few years, when is he back in sydney and why dosent he play at the basement.
I cant blame Kev for working up North in winter, but we miss him in Melb!
Sure we remember Blackfeather "Boppin the Blues" back in La De Days in the early 70's! In fact, we saw them at their first reformed (not revived as Neil said) gig at the Corner Hotel on Australia Day this year with the Barrie McAskill all star band - some of the old Levis plus more - Warren Morgan, Gil Matthews, Les Stacpool, Billy Christian, Lobby Lloyd, amazing!!! Talking to Barrie + Jan afterwards, we mentioned Kev, and Jan had some funny tales to tell...please dont EVER let Kev grow up will you??????????????? And make sure he joins Barrie's line-up NEXT Australia Day!
The Blackfeather thing would have been great. Any chance of a "Kev Cruise" on the Brisbane River?I and lot's of friends and associates would be very keen
He sure gets around. hehe.....I am hoping to get up to Coffs as well.......
Just watching K.B. go thru his paces on the 'Gimme Ted' d.v.d. . Top Stuff.
.... met KB at Byron Bay Hotel last month. Haven't stopped playing the CD's.
my wife and I are great long time fans, ie; I use ot see KBE at the Bondi Astra I think it was and around Sydney and when we go Married in 80, we us to see the boy play when he was at the 8 miles plains hotel between brisbane and gold coast, yes they were the days. We are going to organsie to fly to Sydney and attend this cruise and I am going to hunt up a few old Army mates of mine who use to play guitar, a bit of a reunion.
From La De Das - Here Disco North Sydney '72 ..... to Coffs Ex Services Kev is still blasting em away. Long Live KB
..scored front row tickets to The Hard Road show so it shouldbe easy to check out the band....
Thank you for the great music
Sat night was a blast - everyone was there and "KB looked and sounded great!"
by the way ...that reminds me .. I went to Kevvies Studio 22 gig ... ! when is it showing ....on the ABC ? been a Kevvy fan since the first album learned all his songs & bought an Explorer .. too ...
Will be heading to the Palm Court. I can't wait. Joe and I have just about worn our CD's out. See you there
I have been a long time KBE supporter since my school days and have been loyal supporter ever since even though my friends have progressed to more mellow sounds.
I note with interest after listening to KB being interviewed by Donnie Sutherland on Sunday night that he is doing a tour around the A.C.T. called the " HARD ROAD TOUR " featuring KB, Russell Morris, Stevie Wright, Max Merritt, Normie Rowe, Chain. To have a line-up like that with those people sounds SENSATIONAL. To see these guys go round again would be unreal.
Also if possible can I be put on list and advised when the next Harbour Cruise is going to occur ?
I dont know if I told you, and this will make Kev feel old, but when I was about 14, Kev played at my high school (Baulkham hills High), it was the first live rock music I can remember ever seeing. I can still picture me and my mates dancing around the gym floor playing air guitar on our brown lunch bags to Snow Ball King. I remember being blown away that a guitar could make noises like that. That was over 25 years ago, scary!
Thanks for a great performance on Saturday night at Palm Beach - thoroughly enjoyed the show and even better really enjoyed the third set with Jon Stevens
please tell KB to get himself back to Qld for some more gigs real soon
I was at Palmy Golf Club on Sat night. It was a great nite. I love your music.
Will be at Corrimal on the 18th and bringing some friends along.
Last week I went up to Ballina with a mate to buy another Harley, a 1998 Electra Glide which comes with a radio and cassette player and four speakers, so I have dubbed Kev's CD's onto cassettes. We rode down to Yamba to stay overnight . The next morning as we were leaving Yamba riding through the canefields in beautiful warm whether three of us on Harley Electra Glides I put in a cassette with, you guessed it, Canefields.
What a @#$^&*! buzz. Tell Kev I was floating.

I have very fond memories of Kevin @ Armadillos in Mentone a while back.
Great night that one!!
GREAT!!..to hear from you guys again. I still have very fond memories of '78
Was at the Big Daddy’s at Palm Beach. It just keeps getting better. Man, that slow version of Goin Somewhere was awesome, is it on an album?
Glad to see plenty of work happening for KB ...thats what the country needs is to hear more of his magic!!!.... regards to all

Hello, i hope this finds you well, i have been really enjoying receiving my newsletters, although it makes me miss Australia (along with its fantastic music!) As i am in london will it be possible to purchase a video copy of this TV show on 4/11? Thanks verymuch

what's new. Are you guys coming to Melbourne in the near future. ???? Any new CD's out. ??? Any DVD's in the pipeline ?????? Are the Party Boys doing anything down the track ???? Ok, no more bloody questions except for – Can you ask KB or do you know where i can buy a cassette or anything that has "the blues had a baby and they called it rock n roll" by KB & Dutch Tilders. I had a cassette but have lost it or it has been permanently borrowed.Have got the "Giveme Ted " DVD - Brilliant
I am delighted to be on Kevin's mailing list. I find it fascinating to track his work schedule. I would have so loved to become a gifted guitarist or musician like Kevin and many of the other guys on LWTTT. It is absolutely wonderful that these "mature musicians" are still performing and delighting audiences all over Australia.
We fly out 17th Oct bummer. 1st time ever missed him.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you & all the other Aussie rock'n'roll legends perform at the "Hard Road" concert here in Canberra in a couple of weeks time.

Kev keeps getting better with age, proven by the response at a packed Palm Court Hotel Corrimal.
Radar

A Sizzling Flambe of hi-energy rock, no-one does it better than Borich. Photos simply do not give this legend the credit, you simply had to be there
had a blast of a night at Corrimal last night. Watching the happening between father and son was beyond description and the "hand of Harry" was something else.

The audience gave Harry the biggest applause I've ever heard for a bass player.

Well back in Wauchope after another great KB show. This time Kev played the Palm Court hotel Corrimal and as usual lit the place up. This time with Lucia on drums and the great Harry Bruce on bass. KB never fails to deliver the goods. Long live KB and thanks for the music mate. Need tractor parts for the Fergie give me a yell. Cheers.........

Corrimal was the best gig I have ever seen. Nobody can play together like KB and Lucius. They play as one.
Anyhow about the gig i must say i have seen quit a few k.b concerts now as you know but i truly have to say that the corrimal gig took the cake ..... it was seeeensational . Firstly good ol helecopter harry was absolutly fenominal with his solo efforts as well as supporting k.b and lucious i dont think i have ever seen harry or for that matter a bass player with so much depth and class. Then .... Then on the third day god created lucious borich i still can not get over the extra effort that guy puts into his riffs . It seems like every beat a normal drummer plays lucious plays 4 or 5 he is an absolute dead set wizz i still cant get over how good that guy is he is definatly up there with the best in ozz drummers rob hurst eat your heart out...... Now i do always save the best till last and i cant forget me ol mate k.b. it just seemed like with the other 2 along side him he lifted another cog or 2 or 4 and to see his smilin face when harry and lucious played their solos was enough for me to be convinced that this is one of the best k.b line ups ive seen in a long time . Anyhow cheers for now and see u reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllll sssssoooonnnnn i hope by kevs fishin mate .. oh i nearly forgot that new song kev was unreal if that is a taste of what is to come in the new album bring it on me ol mate .........
Hope your day is full of love and pleasent suprises.
I did a short blues show this morning on 3 WAY. Played " Saved by the blues" by K.B. to celebrate his birthday!!!! Give him my regards please.
looking forward to seeing Kevin perform on that show on the ABC in a week or so's time. Thanks again for your regular updates.
Stayed up to watch Studio 22 and woke up in the recliner just as it ended BUMMER!
It was a great show, only thing wrong with it is that is wasn't long enough..
tell Kev I thought the show was cool

tuesday night was a great night - though the time restriction of half an hour was a joke when they have so much rubbish on TV these days where someone of KB's talent could showcase the music of today. He really nailed "Canefield" with his superb flamingo piece - BBBBrrriiliant.

Really enjoyed Kevin on ABC Thursday night but way too short, only 5 songs! (oh well, better than no songs)
Heyyyyy what a gig....! I'm speechless! It was so good to see KB on TV! The Rockin' blues star clearly suits the medium!
Just finished watching K.B. on Studio 22, ---- BRILLIANT. Of course I'm biased, but his performance has made the others before him on the program look tame and second rate. ROCK ON K.B. !!
We just spent our holidays in New Zealand and of course we took our KB CDs with us. Driving along in the land of the long white cloud and the great Kevin Borich listening to KB's Boogie was a sensational experience, as the Kiwis say "sensational thung" and they put us in Room sex!!!!..... Great! We never thought we would ever do that!!!!!

Hard Road

Royal Theatre Canberra

I tell you KB's set last week was steaming, the band was so together. I was talking to Mick the drummer last saturday night very very late and asked him what was his highlight and he said when he was playing KB's set and they were on fire!!
All the best to KB too may he keep 'rockin 'em blues!'
Congrats on the new cd KB ... Keep it coming....havent heard it yet but soon to.... hope for plenty of sales
you looked great on the ABC.....more of it Please
ya hoo we just heard on James radio stn the cd is finished how much n what is it called.
great we can't wait...
thanks so much for this info - time I broke away from the usual routine, and took on some hot music.
Kevin played sooooo well...because we were sitting stage centre , front row we were getting the stage sound and he was carving it up.....as the classic goes "playin guitar like a ringing bell"
Tony Jaggers
I reckon I am a Kevin Borich purist. I don't want to hear Kev play 2 songs in a concert with loads of others or play covers. I would rather hear Kevs music, that’s how I feel.
Is the new CD available now ?? & $ etc (Does it have 'The Silent Treatment' on it ??) Good to see KB on Studio 22 last week !!! All the best, PS. Isn't it abt time KB did The Basement again ???
I watched 'Studio 22' AGAIN. Pity it didn't go for a couple of hours.
just wondering if Kevin is playing any gigs in Melbourne other than the Mercury Lounge next week
the vibe/ feeling for the gig at the Mercury Lounge seems to be quite remarkable at this stage, everyone i run into seems to know about the show, Franks media savvy must be working its magic
We still have to get 'Legend' on CD !!! & have KB do 'Feel Like a Dog' in his next Sydney Show !!!
How do I get hold of one of Kevs new cds....I can't wait.. baby can't wait too long.
My friend and I had a brilliant night at the show in the Lismore Workers Club. Fabulous music and incredible musicians! Many thanks for a superb show. We're sorry that more people didn't attend. I guess that means that you won't want to come to Lismore again, that will be our loss. We live in Mullumbimby and will try to catch your show if you are in the area again. Once again, thanks for a great night of music. I couldn't sit still once the music started! ... Best regards
Re- iterate - will hear KB's new CD when he is ready - that's the thing - you don't breathe when one hears his music.
I see Kev's down supporting Jo Jo Zep on 21 Nov at Mercury Lounge - that's good, but we'd prefer a whole nite of Kev too - is he doing any other Melb gigs then?
Congratulations on the Blues Hall of Fame, he definitely deserves it!
Kevin Borich you legend!
On behalf of all the SABS members and SA blues punters ... CONGRATULATIONS!
...I'm still waiting for my invite ...and free flight and accommodation! Would like to be there. Oh well!
Hope the night goes well for you.

On behalf of the MILESAGO team and all the members of the Rock'n'Roll Scars list, I'd like to congratulate Kevin Borich on his induction into the Blues all of Fame
Anyone (else) going to the Mercury Lounge tonight for KB's investiture (!!)  and Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons show ??

I went with some friends to the Mercury Lounge last Friday and had a ball! Great show and just loved the old footage from GTK. I also bought the Heart Starter CD and have been listening over the weekend – even though my ears are still ringing! Thanks

Mercury Lounge Melbourne
Having only ever heard his music and never having seen him live........I knew The Mercury Lounge gig was gonna be an exhibition of australian music history. He was just as awesome as i knew he would be.............and to be a part of history witnessing him being inducted to the hall of fame made it an evening to always remember. Job well done. It was just a shame I never actually acheived meeting the man himself. The show was phenominal and i was mesmerised by the history in the room.
KB is just a legend
I would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations Kevin what a performance you put on at the Mercury lounge on Friday 21st November you never seem to amaze us all you have not lost anything your music is just getting better and better. Thank you for a great show only thing it was not long enough. You have so very many fans here in Melbourne so we would all hope that you
can come visit us again in the New Year. Have a Merry Christmas and a great start to another New Year.
thoroughly enjoyed your set at lukes farm the other month
i really liked 'silent treatment' and was wondering what cd of yours it may be on
hope the kruise is great, but as we are in Melb we will have to miss out until kev runs one here. just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the mercury lounge gig last week, and congrats on the long-overdue recognition. kev's sets are always amazing, and after seeing many many bands from our era (late 60s early 70s) his ability to silence a rowdy, well-lubricated crowd with his penetrating opening solo number commands attention better than any other act i've ever seen. may he stay forever young.
Congrats, Kev, well deserved , good on you and about time!

Do you remember playing with The Party Boys at the Brisbane RNA showgrounds in August 1987 with Cockroaches and Mental as Anything? (my hearing hasnt been as good since) just joking. It was a blast. Do you still catch up with Alan Lancaster and John Brewster for a jam? Would the 1987 Party Boys do some gigs some time? Thanks for the tunes, enough questions for now. Come to toowoomba soon!!!!!

we met this girl from Sale who was about 19. She was saying she was down in Melbourne at the casino and went to see KB and Jo Jo Zepp. She said it was one of the best shows she's ever been too. It was only a fluke that she was there, just walking by the Mercury lounge and thought..why not! Anyway tell KB he's won a new fan, she said we missed a fantastic night.
Thanx for the photo of Kev. Great double album. I saw Kev when he played at Armadillos in Melbourne which was a fanastic night. I hadn't seen him play for about 20 years (when he came back over to NZ and played at the Hillcrest in Hamilton .)
Would love to listen Kevin’s new CD, but where do buy it etc???
I see Kevin is plaung on Saturday 6 Dec at the James Squire Brewhouse King St Wharf Sydney. Can you let me know when he'll be on stage (don't want to get there too late!)
any news on a release date for kev's new cd.... merry xmas
I've never played so much air guitar in my life....Kev is playing better than I can remember. Everyone had a great night.
Great Interview last Saturday...
looking forward to the cruise. The last one was fantastic.
We went on the last KKK in July and it was fantastic and can't wait to do it again.I also want to get a couple of KB's CD's, but will wait till the KKK so he can sign them.
..........and yet another great gig at corrimal and i loved the new song medicine man
I remember KB well.In the early eighties I frequented a rock joint in Melbourne called BOMBAY ROCK (its since burnt down) KB was a regular act there. Hes just got better, like a good wine I suppose. All the best ( hope Kev comes to Wagga one day)
........here is payment to see the one and only KB on the Harbour...can't wait
And Best Wishes to the KB Family
thanks for the music and the energy at the Brunswick Heads hotel. We had a great night. If you're ever in this area again we'll try and catch the gig. The Heartstarter CD is fabulous, it keeps us dancing at home. Have a great New Year!
We just make a decision to escape the madness for a weekend at the Thredo Blues Fest......bookings have been made.
JUST BOOKED OUR FLIGHT, yahoo MY WIFE AND i CAN'T WAIT, the guys at the station and mates in town reckon we're crazy but I showed them the A.B.C. gig with Kev, and they were blown awayand thank you very much for the photo with the tickets if possible I think my wife will bring some photos she took in the early 80's at the 8 Mile Plains pub where Kev use to rock fairly often. We're flying from Brisbane on Friday and fly back to Brisbane on the Monday, it's the 6 hour drive from Roma to Brisbane which will be a pain
