kevs kapers 2001

What a night! It was so much better than I would have expected. People may go to a pub/club for all sorts of reasons like "pick up", getting pissed, pokies etc etc. But this was a collection of people with one objective ... to enjoy a night of KB! What a great vibe.
.......more than I could ever wish for - KBE better than sex
This site is packed full of great stuff, everything that the planet needs to know about kevin is available for download and perusal. Nice looking with a hearty feel…
I used to get stressed until Kevin Borich came into my life.
I am the designated driver for the night. I haven't had a drink or smoke and I am blown away, I am having the best time.
`Heartstarter' is one of the best CDs i've bought in a while - it's up there with SRV, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and the rest. Won't be forgettan that night for a long while You guys rock!!!!!!!!
Just letting you know I've received the cd's on Friday and am thoroughly enjoying them ....thank you.....
.........the cruise was brilliant. Best show I've seen in ages.

this guy reeks Respect! can’t get enough of the BIG KAHUNA

The technical forte that kept me spellbound was where he broke the rules of many of these texts that preach their own sacristy................A textual explanation of this technique has never been found by the author of this note, but the sound, which is after all the object of any musician, was magic.
I have just visited your site regarding Kevin Borich. Very interesting and informative. I am a big Kevin Borich fan. I have been a fan for over 20 years. I have seen many many of his concerts including the classic Rock arena. Kevin is a legend and would easily be one of the greatest guitarists of all time..... without doubt He is totally under-rated and deserves to be in the same grade as Santana !!!! I have all his albums and still play them on a regular basis.
..........in 1974,....Barry (Harvey) joined The Kevin Borich Express for one year and played 366 gigs in 365 days.
I think your website is 'choice', great pics & info to go.Can't wait to see you Live again, with Lucius & Ben on another Syd' harb'r CROOOOSE!!!.... Your next gig in New'ie is when?....We're starved. Thanks for staying TRUE............
.........just got in an excellent recording "Heartstarter" from the Austrailian blues/rocker Kevin Borich. Mostly original material, some nasty slide, strong axe work, good supporting players, decent vocals, and well engineered. I got this CD and a two disc set "Live at the Big Kahuna" from his website... The prices were reasonable for imports and the CDs got here quickly. He is most definitely someone who any blues/rock fan will want to check into.
I subcribed to your list after seeing Kevin live in Ballarat , Victoria so I am always interested if he will be back in town someday. I am a fan of Hendrix music and loved Kevins style and his top class blues and rock ....
Kevin and his band played absolutely phenomenal again.....what a band, what a guitarist, what a performance! Kevin performing "Dust My Broom" places one on another planet; "Rollin and Tumblin" brings to the fore Lucius' great drumming skills and "Angels Hand" ( another of Kevins great songs), shows Ben's skills on bass. Long live KBE!

KB enjoys wearing HARRO's quality clothing

Thanks for the info. But alas I am still in the jungles of Borneo. Please don't stop sending me the info, it's good to keep in touch and one day I will make it.
Great site, and wonderful to see that KB is still rockin'. I have been to (literally) hundreds of gigs in London and the US, but I still have vivid and very happy memories of seeing KB slidin' thru Li'l Red Rooster, Goin' Somewhere, Snowball King, KB's Boogie, and then the gigs with Dutch Tilders - Wow!!
.......today I received the KB-CD's and they are excellent!
First saw Kevin in Christchurch with the La De Das in, ah, 1967. And many times since, including a great gig on the night of Christmas Day, 1977, with KBE at the old Bondi Lifesaver. Glad KB's still around and playing. A Borich gig is one thing that's guaranteed to tear me away from the comforts of home.
I received KB's BIG KAHUNA, rate first half as 8/10 and second disk as a 5/10 but when he's hot , he's hot.........tried to get down to Lennox Head but my wife fell at work and broke her ankle.......very inconsiderate! Anyway I'll order some more as $ come in
I would get up at 3:30am any time to see Kevin perform on the internet - it was great!!!
A few short years ago I had the time of my life filling in on drums and playing three gigs with KB in Tasmania. John Annas had to return to Sydney for a Music Expoand KB still had gigs to play as luck would have it we had the same promoter and I got the gigs. I just want to thank KB and Ian Lees (bass) for threee of the best nights of my life......
...this is one awesome band a must see!!
I`m a guy from Germany - it took me about 20 years to get Goin` downtown. Saw you on German Television around 1980 with that song. I will spread the good word about your great guitarpicking around.
KB was excellent. Lucius and Ben were both great value too. They are great players and great guys.
Kevin Borich has given Australia some of the hottest Rockin' Blues of all time, beginning with the La - De - Das, through the Party Boys and the Kevin Borich Express. Kevin deservedly stands at the podium with the Best of Australian Blues Performers. Oz Blues Rock is alive and well.
........one of the elements that so far I have not seen addressed by reviewers is that KB, in my opinion, has led the way over 30 years for guitar enthusiasts, musos and amateurs, in Australia.
....the worst part about the festival was that Kevin was not there.
Sorry, I can't part with my Kevin Borich "LIVE"
Anyways thanks for the cont emails even though 12,000 away I like to keep up to date, check the website reguly, and my sister got me a copy of heartstarter, which I love, I been waiting 15 years for him to finnaly record "cadillac walk"

 KB ~ Lenny

Rex Hotel Thirroul

......mega night at Corrimal...had a ball !!!!!
I received the CD's last week - thanks! I listened to them all last weekend. It was great to hear that KB is still producing the goods, and my wife was entertained by my strutting around playing air guitar and singing songs I hadn't heard for years!! Having been recharged, I wonder if you have any other live concert recordings? Especially any version(s) of Snowball King! I have an old tape of KBE Live!, but it is pretty worn out, and I believe there is no CD available any more. Let me know if there is any chance of KB touring in the US at all sometime - it would be brilliant to see him! Please pass on my best regards to Kevin from a guy who saw just about every gig he played in Melbourne between '78 and '82 (before I left Australia), and I wish him well in the future. It is totally obvious he still enjoys what he does, even though he doesn't receive the recognition he deserves. That takes passion and guts which he has in droves, probably only exceeded by his talent. We're all getting old, but I'm not scared to admit that KB's Boogie still gets me jumpin'.
Keep rockin' Kevin - it' really appreciated!
........ my job has been causing me to much stress. and i'm looking forward to unwind with some K.B. BOOGIE
Any idea when KB's comin back to the Gold Coast. Miss them blues he plays so well
I just got back from KB's gig at The Continental, its the first time I have seen him for nearly 20 years, I thought he may have lost some oomph.......He came out for the second set, played for 1 hour and forty minutes and blew everyone away, he was magnificent, has lost no oomph, and the guitar is still part of his body and soul, did he turn it on? Oh yeah, he was fantastic,
KB still ROCKS!!!!!!!,
KB - thanks for staying TRUE...MAAAAATE.
One thing that is apparent with KB's fans is they never give up on his music. They have hung onto the tape or vinyl even when they have nothing to play it with or it has worn out!
The flames poster looks sensational on our wall all framed and bordered
I've finally got a bloody computer......#*!!+#*!! I bought it mainly for the KB web sight.
I saw Kevin & the band at Armadillo's last Thurs night & they were fantastic. Well worth the wait for the man to get back to Melb. Tell him to get here more often please !!!
I saw you guys at Avoca last Sunday, we really enjoyed the gig. Bonus to see Angry there as well. I guess Kevin is one of my favourite performers, and has been for many years. I think his fair dinkum attitude to the music is to be acclaimed. He certainly has not "sold out" in my eyes. Not to mention being a down to earth guy. We will be going to the Hornsby Inn gig in 2 weeks as well.
and God said ...``Let there be a guitarist"
It's been a LONG time since I saw him live, so I'm looking forward to it. I have very happy memories of a balmy Sydney summer arvo (could it REALLY be 27 years ago ??? yikes!) when I saw Kev for the first time on the bill at the Sydney Rockarena show with Santana and Fleetwood Mac, and he was damn fine.
we were able to go on sunday to avoca surf classic only to see kevin play again. fantastic ... we had a great time listening to kev's old songs that we so dearly love to hear.
Great music and I LOVE that National Steel guitar!......
Heartstarter has the best KB guitar playing on it, it's almost scary.
But how does it get all back together Wayne??
Kevin's music is getting a lot of airplay here! I like both acoustic and electric setting, it just shows Kevin's variety and musical expertise. He is definitely one of the top artists I've encountered in recent times. Keep up the good work and have me informed on your future activities!
Kevin was great at the Star Hotel Saturday nite. I don't get out much but as soon as I heard Kevin was playing there I made sure I attended. I last saw Kevin play in 1976 when they had a Music expo at the Horden Pavillion and then at the Bondi Life Saver before it burnt down. I would love to Kevin play up here at either the Bowling Club or RSL but I don't think they would be able to pay for such a world known artist to come here. So I have to travel to see Kevin.
Interesting idea to have an acoustic and electric sides on two different CDs! It shows Kevin's potential and happy crowd lucky to be there at the time!
......about NYE,wasn't that a great night, the blokes really turned it on, I am still talking about it, and the next time your down here I've got a heap of people that want to go. it was one of the best nights ever, with one highlite 3mins before midnight, he didn't know what to play, then without telling the band, he started belting out Johnny Be Good with the band coming into line as soon as they heard the riff. What an unbelievable night, well worth the drive to Tomakin and the flight to Sydney from Melbourne.
I found Kevin by accident on a bluesweb, I visited his website, and felt immediately in love for his guitar, when I saw him with such a guitar, I knew he is making great delta-roots or slide guitar music, which perfectly fits in my show!!
Kevin Borich - God on guitar
...what a mindblowing weekend you are going to have. We saw Kevin performing with Renee at Southport RSL a few months ago both were superlative. We'd be down in Sydney as well but we not long got back from England Ireland and Europe and need a few more pennies again. What we really needed was a Kevin "Jet" to get us mad people down there, oh well one day.
KB was absolutely fantastic and the girl that was with me liked KB as well. I am sure that the older he gets the better he gets. Does KB have a song book out somewhere that I can buy ? Would like to try and play his music. The CD that I got off you Saturday nite is very good.
What a night! Kevin was brilliant as usual. I should see a bad show just to prove that he has the occasional off night. To me the highlight was seeing the heroes of my adolescence, the Masters Apprentices. Doug Ford ... legend!! Glen Wheatley couldn't get the smile off his face. The other idol I hadn't seen was Thorpie. I was disappointed that his guitar-slinger took all the breaks. I know Billy isn't in the KB league of players ... but I wanted to see him rip in to the Les Paul, not his mate. But what a voice. What a night. Thanks for letting me know about it.

K.B. - what can I say. Great guy, killer player! One of the world's greats.
Heart Starter, Typical K.B. song - it rocks!

Borich was hot hot HOT. 'Gonna See My Baby' was rockin'; great version of Voodoo Chile with a dash of Sex Machine, and some scorching lead; Goin Downtown was white hot.
What a total rock god - still in truly awesome physical shape and can play the arse off anyone on earth.
Well , this is the sight you told me about!!! I bumped into you in the gents loo at Ted Mulry's benefit ( Friday night) .. It was a great night, although as you said to me , it was sad that a tragedy like this brought everyone together,( muscians and fans alike!) Just checked out the web-site, just brilliant champ!! One of the better web-sites i have visited!!..You should have a game you could play!.........dont ask me how or what tho!!!! Now i've found this site i'll be spreading the word!!! Once again Kev, it was great to talk to my boyhood hero, a great night and my friends were saying you were one of the best performers on the night, a standout!
Just got back, Friday night was the highlite of the weekend and if there is a Ted show down here, I hope Kevin comes down, as kevin says, its good to see ya again.
It was just awesome seeing Kev play with Russell - the wave of excitement that went through the room when they came out was amazing, and when they went into The Real Thing everyone was practically levitating off the floor....Jesus it was great. Kev was just great, as always, and you could see how daunted Gina was having to come on after Kev's blistering set but she was a sport about it.......I'm still buzzing!
Any hope for R&R Sandwich on CD - it's a true classic!!!
Our sincere congratulations re the news on the 140 big ones for Ted. We legendary rockers from New Zealand are thrilled to see such an outcome. Kindest thoughts to y'all across the ditch.
I've been a fan of K.B.s for well over 20 years, having first seen him play around 1977 in Melbourne. Do you know if he has any date's lined up for down here at any stage this year, as I would be keen to see him play sometime.

I was knocked out by your performances on Friday and Saturday at the Gimme Ted concerts. Like a lot of the aunties and uncles present, I've enjoyed your music for over 30 years. (I'm 48 but I still feel like a teeenager...sound familiar???)
The test for any musician playing after all that time is: is the intensity still there? I think you've not only kept the intensity, you've taken it to a higher level.

Hey hey, got the CD - it's a blast - takes me back, right back. Looking forward to catch up.
I hope Channel 10 show some highlights of the Master (KB) Can't wait for the Music Max show...
Gday from WA. Does Kevin ever get over this way? Would love to see his band here.
Please pass on my congrats to KB. I was at both nights of Gimme Ted, and I must say Kev hasn't lost a beat. Awesome indeed. Hope to be at the next one...
Can't wait to see the Gimme Ted concert, hope there's a good bit of K.B on it !.
I have just discovered Kev's website. Thankfully. I am a long term fan, I have all his records and am really knocked out to find these 3 new releases.......
Thanks for the news of the TV dates for Gimmee Head and especially for the link to Milesago....I've just spent a couple of hours reliving the best years of my life. Tell kev to get off his bum and do something with the Happy Prince songs and story.....It still blows people away when I play them my very worn album
I am Rural Fire Service member of 19 yrs so I am glad to support them by been at Mooney Mooney and better still listen to Australia's best guitarist.
( Well I know Kev's a kiwi but I won't hold that against him ).
Saw Kevin on Channel 10 last night saw him do a little bit of "Gonna See My Baby Tonight," WOW....
Been tuned to your gig at the basement,"choice",Then today the Doug had Wendy Saddington on,@ all this takes me back to 1974 at Mona Vale community hall, The Bondi Lifesaver, etc,The good old days were good.
Hi There I just wanted to say that it was nice to see that there is a KB website
I am an aussie living in the USA. rock on
Congratulations KB and Crew on your involvement in the Gimme Ted Concerts, it certainly has been the musical highlight of the century! How about "Jumping in you Car" and putting the show on the road so that us Mexicans down south in Vic can pay tribute to the artists that made this a golden era.
Thanks for the pix of KB at the Ted concert - just fantastic. They all capture his infectious enthusiasm. I lived in the US for 2 years (one of the reasons I came back home was because I missed the Sydney live blues scene in general and KBE in particular!).
My new amps!
I know that Kevin will Blow those Sydneysiders out of the Water.....
Kevin is a most enjoyable artist and the more I listen to his work, the more I appreciate it.
Watched the Music Max Gimme Ted Part 1 last night and I have to say once again what a absolute bloody rock god Kevin Borich is. His set with Harry Brus and John Annas was just frigging brilliant.
Caught Gimme Ted last night. Kev ROCKED!! Hope to catch him at Mooney Mooney soon.
I saw the Ted benefit gig on cable tele over the last two nights and it was great to see Kev in action. He was playing great ( of course ) and at last i have some live Kev on video so i'm happy with that. There were a lot of old faces present at the gig but Kev was one of the few that still looks every bit the rock star...i'm sure that would make him laugh
The set he did with Russell Morris and the KBE reunion set now rank among the greatest concert-going moments of my life -- something I'll always treasure.
I saw you on the Ted thing on cable. Looked liked fun. You look well for a bloke who's done a few K's
Kevin is world class, ...always has been and deserves recognition as such ....
........you may have info on a video release of the Gimme Ted show...I don't have Foxtel or any enlightened friends who could have taped it for me. (They are still swooning over getting SBS for nix and were probably watching The Life Cycle of a Wooden Spoon) So all I got to see was Channel Tens token nod. You could tell by the sweat and vibe that more was happenning than 10 showed and I so badly want to see it. At least Kev got his face on...that guy is the epitome of cool. I have been in awe of his playing from a night back in '69 when he plugged me into his amp at a La De Das gig at Armidale ( we wuz the support band ). For me the highlight of that night was when Kev tok lead vocals from Phil for " I Put a Spell on You" and then played congas for the funkiest "Light my Fire" Last year I was knocked unconcious by a Council Truck and had to have my clothes cut off....The ambos reckon I was pleading to them not to cut my 8 y.o Borich Indian T shirt...must buy another. Sorry I'm rambling...shouldnt do my emails so early inthe morning. If you hear of any such video release could you please let me know....I would be sooo grateful ..
I'm first in line for a copy of Rock n Roll sandwich when it comes out on cd.
Saw the concert and Kevin was on fire. He made Russel Morris's "Real Thing" look alive with his playing !
Borich was awesome last Sat night at Corrimal leagues Club.. Paul Christie on bass and John Annas on drums.. would have loved that show on video..
BORICH COOKS at CORRIMAL - Faced with a choice of seeing the Blues Gals at another venue or seeing the legendary Kevin Borich at Corrimal Leagues Club, I chose to see KB as not only had I not seen him for a while but also he always puts on an outstanding show and I was not dissapointed. Paul Christie played bass guitar and John Annas played drums. A line up like this is incredible. Kevin started with the full band using his metal acoustic guitar and within two songs the dance floor was becoming busy. Some new songs that I had not heard him play before. After a short break it was time for the electric guitar to come out and the dance floor was packed, as KB went through some old favorites and some new songs too. This guy never lays down, always full of energy and giving 100 percent with cooking guitar solos and tonight he seemd to enjoy playing with Paul Christie as they had so much fun on stage. Kevin is one of the greats in Australian history who gets better with age. If you want a guaranteed good night, head to Kevin Borich concert and watch a legend at work.
KEVIN BORICH is another great blues rocker from Australia.
Highly recommended!
What a great show yesterday and as always really enjoyed it. It was the first time that I have heard Kev play his Accoustic guitar, always fantastic as always. Keep rock and rolling
Missed the second concert back in April but caught it on Monday night. I thought Kevin was sensational, he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Anyone that saw that concert live or on TV would now know that Kevin is the best Guitarist in the land. The whole concert was great and Kevin was at the top of the list as an entertainer.
It doesn't get any better than that afternoon. Sippin' Bourbon, and watching Kev up close, in a tiny little club. Man, we rocked out! What the hell were the other million Borich fans doing on that day?
Congratulations to Kevin on Heartstarter and Live at the Big Kahuna. I purchased them from you about 3-4 months ago. Finally, we get to hear real instruments on CD! I've got all of the following albums of Kevin: Angel's Hand, The Blues Had A Baby (Dutch Tilders), Shy Boys Shy Girls (EP) Kevin Borich Live (8 tracks), No Turning Back, Lonely One & Celebration. However, I am unable to play these albums and relive his greatest music as I do not have a turntable anymore!! I purchased the compilation "Collection" (fantastic CD) and the double CD set of Lonely One & Celebration, so I can at least get to hear some of Kevin's greatest work. However, is there a way of getting all of the albums I mentioned on CD? This is a truly genuine request from a big fan.
.....about our kids enjoying KB.... when my 2 girls where about 5 and seven and given the O.K. to use the CD player they discovered my collection of sixties/70's stuff and guess who their fave was?....none other than KBs " Gonna see my Baby". Long trips to Queensland were made fun by their 3 hour catalogue of 60's Brit pop and Oz rock and about every 15 minutes we'd get "Baby" complete with sung guitar intro and increased dynamics on the do dooden doo do do bit.
Hi to Kevin........" he's got the power.."
Good to see Kevin is still the King !!! A real leader, bandleader, and supernatural talent A guy who gave me, (and many other musicians) support and direction as a teenager trying to find their way in the stagnant Australian Music Scene. (Australian Music's not dead, it just smells funny, and nobody looks good with brown lipstick on !) Kevin was always Hip to trying new shit and using other instruments in his music, and breaking the mould. Never afraid to follow his musical instincts just like Carlos Santana. I know along with most everyone who has ever worked with Kevin (that's alot of people), and what Carlos Santana recognizes. Kevin is a born musician/guitarist, (not made) with great feel/time and a supreme tone, who gives it to you right in the pocket everytime, undoubtedly. My most prized personal recording efforts are recording with Kevin Borich, and Frank Gambale's debut album. Damn Proud of both these Australian Legends/Friends There are 2 types of musicians in the world: Those who are it, and those who are trying to look like it ! We all know which one Kevin is !!!!! Thanks Kevin, and keep it rockin steady.
I really think Kevin has been plugged in and switched on all his musical life..it seems that as he grows so does the music he channels through to us.......it only gets more powerful!......I'm sure he has plenty more in store to blow us all away with... !!!!

Australian 60's Rock Legends Reunion Party

Thuts a lotta cheeeessssz-a

I saw Eric Johnson and the Hellcasters (Jerry Donohue and Will Ray) as the support last night at the Fox venue where you did "Gimme Ted". Same woolly bottom end. All 3 of them were excellent technicians, but couldn't communicate with the audience to save themselves. Where was the passion and fire? Where was the eye contact? No charisma at all. That's where the real pro's like you leave these guys for dead...not to mention that you strangle that guitar until it cries out for mercy. Not a drop of sweat was exerted last night compared to your 2 or 3 shirt nights.
I have listened to Kevin since the La De Das ...his music is not background noise...he gives his all to the crowd and strikes cords that reach the soul....he's an angel and plays a harp with attitude!... it is genuine goosebump material..!!!!........thankyou Kevin....
I would like to start off by saying thanks for inspiring me back in 1981-82 as a young guitarist in western Sydney (Blacktown), Twenty years on I'm still rocken. I play with a Sydney band called UNDERDOGS for the past five years and recently played up at the brass monkey bike cycle rally at Lithgow and play locally most weekends , we play a mixture of hard rock and blues that suits that biker fraternity. I first seen you at Parramatta Leagues Club in 1981 and fell in love with the slide, I had two favourite LP's then, Rock and Roll Sandwich and George Thorogood, and have still got them. I seen you on TV for the ted concert and the memories came back. Like I said Kevin I'm 38 now and have played in bands since 1981 and have put my long time passion down to people like you.
...it was the first time he had really heard KB, but it won't be the last. We are both interested in the next cruise whenever that may be, WE WILL BE THERE WITH BELLS ON.
Will there ever be another great Sydney Harbour Cruise ? Did I tell you we drove all the way home from KB'S Cruise to Bribane without stopping all on KB's energy!
I caught KB's last gig at the Cotinental Hotel a while ago which of course was excellent. I have been a fan of KB since the La De Das (Rock N Roll Sandwich) and spent many a good night at the Hard Rock Cafe in Melbourne back in the mid 70's watching them play (giving away the age now). Also saw KB jam there with Ritchie Blackmore.....would love to see you play in Melbourne in the near future.
I saw your gig at the Shumaluma Bar on Saturday last week. Being a KB fan from way back, I wasn't going to miss it. It was the best bit of music I've seen in ages. I've got some vintage KB on vinyl and I was almost going to bring it along for you to sign, but I didn't want to risk getting it damaged. But I got a tee-shirt and I'll be wearing that with pride. I grew up in Sydney and saw KB Express all over the place, but my favourite one was when you played the Carringbar Inn about the mid eighties. The crowd went nuts. You're one of my favourite guitarists. Keep up the great music.
Whens Kevin coming to Melbourne again. Its been to long !
I'm seeing US guitar-god, Eric Johnson on Thursday. Maybe he could get some lessons from KB while he's here!
Sydney Harbour, what a great location for a Kevin Borich Express DVD. If you are a KB fan you obviously have the taste for the finer things in life. Imagine Kev in your own lounge room, high quality picture and sound. When the extensions finished I want to hang the framed, bordered and signed poster of Kevin in the new room. I am going to do this as a surprise and would like it to pack as much punch with my wife as possible. This is real art and I want this to be the main talking point of the room when friends come over.
THE BORICH COLLECTION - PAST JEMS.
Just thought I'd write and tell you some news. Dave is a Corrections Officer in victoria and he tries to help the guys by finding things that they like to do. So he lets them borrow CDs and stuff, Kevin is very popular at the prison. he has a lot of very big fans in there. I'm not sure how he would feel about that because I dont know him, but the whole jail has been rocking to his music a lot lately. Theyve been playing the music right back to the La De Das..Borich and Tilders etc. Dave and I collect records as a hobby, so hes the one they come to....
.....just letting you know I'll be at the basin on friday knock em dead Kev
Happy Prince was one of the few albums at the time that could stand the test of repeated listenings. Initially some of the songs sound a bit trite and simplistic, but on furthur investigation, this suggests to me how good the songs were. Remember the subject material isn't too intellectual - this could spark a debate?? - I'm more interested in the whole sound, and love the organ work on several tracks. Which reminds me I'll make an effort to hear it again soon!
Saw KB on sunday at Jazz and Blues Festival, he was brilliant again easily the festival highlight.
...remember me, the mad blues freak from the South Coast who you snuck into a pub about a year ago. Well, when Kev was playing in St Gearge's Basin a week ago our local news paper put on a competition to win a KB CD with Advance Australia fair and Waltzing matilda in it and I won!!!!!!! I love the anthem!!!!!! Great sound!!!!!!!
By the way, it’s a great website – very user friendly and I actually was at Rockarena but at the Showground as far as I can recall
I was just browsing through some old LP's when I came across one my old time favourites " Kevins Mini LP "Shy Boys/Shy Girls. I was just thinking, how may of these albums did Kevin bring out and how many do you think would be in circulation? Probably a difficult one to answer, but nevertheless the Album was very good and had some truly gritty songs. Anyway take it aesy and keep up the great work. Any progress with KB coming to Melbourne??
I've heard Kevin Borich will be playing Kangaroo Point Jazz and Blues Festival as headliner which is fantastic! I was wondering whether he could come on the show and promote the Festival and Heartstarter ..........
Kangaroo Point Jazz & Blues Festival
was a blast
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you for everything. Kevin and the Express certainly rocked "The Point" last weekend!!!
Everybody that I spoke to said it was great and KB played like he was on fire!
You do not know how inviting a cruise of your beautiful country sounds! One day if we are blessed to live so long, the wife and I hope to visit Australia. I have seen enough pictures to know that you country is very scenic and we already know that I like the music there.
........see you in the future 'oh grand funky one'
I wish KB could sail into Melbourne. ..sounds like a bargain to see the Master. Watch that he dosen't walk on Water !!!!
Borich was hot at the Basement last night.

KEV IN ACTION,,,

WOW WHAT A NIGHT

The kids are hangin out to see KEV after what we told them about the basement WOW,,i thought i saw it all,,till now,,what a cool dude,,,he played with passion,,wit, and, far removed from traditional boogie blues,,the lyrics were, witty, clever, and atractive to everyones,,,attention, he never looked un easy or stuck for words,,trully a world class act, played with so much ease, he cruised it in ,,,we want more,,,we were in the front row table,,, WOW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,p,s i got to get one of those shirts he was wearing
KEV RIPPING IT UP,,,,RAW POWER,,,WHAT A PRO,,,,,,WORLD CLASS,,,,COOL DRESSER,,,COOL DUDE,,,,MAN,,,COOL DUDE

I know I will enjoy these cd's.I have a lot of blues friends around Florida that will listen to these. He Will be a big hit in the central Florida area.
.......as always a great interview. Thanks
Remember me I am the tall good looking guy from Melbourne, I got to tell you that I am pretty pissed of with the morons down here that own or run clubs down here.... We were pretty close to going to Adelaide for the gigs the other week, but work got in the way again. This time its not, If the cruise is still on count me in for two, and if it is still on we are going to come up for WoY Woy and make a weekend out of it. Can you please let me know whats happemning as soon as you can because we have to book flights and accomadation, I wouldn't mind making a fort=night of it and doing Queensland nbut hey, we do have to work. Let me knoew as soon as you can Thanks,
Kevin Borich. The closest thing we can get to an original rock legend guitar hero.
Great concert at the Basement Thursday nite!! Well Done and Thank You
Thanks for this information!! What a sensational talent!!
Hi, Kevin! I was referred to your site by Rob Tognoni! I was telling him that a bass player (Brent Kehoe from the Dylan Wickens Project) here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, mentioned "discovering" Dave Hole and then I turned him onto Rob Tognoni, who referred me to you! Great music and I LOVE that National Steel guitar! Have you heard of Colin James "down under"? He has a CD entitled "National Steel" (for obvious reasons). He's pretty well-known here and as a matter of fact he's in concert here in Toronto on February 15. I've already got the tickets - yah! Anyway, once I get my "international" section going on at my website, I'll be sure to include you, Rob and Dave as my fave Aussie artists
Received the cds, I haven't stop playing them. I can't stop playing "Heartstarter" This song should be a hit! Kevin should be proud of them.
Well you've done it again! Watchin Kev play Angels Hand on that old Gibson, while kruzin past the Sydney Opera house, is definitely my idea of stress relief. Thanks for a great afternoon!
Thank you for a totally incredible afternoon. Cruising Sydney Harbour while Kevin Borich does what only he can do has blown my mind. Amazing day! 4 hours? Not enough!
As for the cruise ...well the 'holy one' surely walked on water this time.. well played I mean ....it was all unbelievable....Jimi I love you but....someone has come to move you over ....the goosebumps havent gone away as yet.....thankyou Kevin ....
Just letting you know we got the CD and the picture. Dave was really happy with it and with the fact that KB signed it for him. Just wanted to say thankyou...
Thankyou for the most incredible cruise...
Thanks for a great evening with Kevin last Friday night. Here are a couple or three photo's I took of Kevin and the boys at the Give Me Ted Concert.

Kevin Borich, John Annas, Grant Cummerford @ Gimme Ted Benefit for Ted Mulry
I can't wait till I see him play again- always a magical experience
gday kev well i must say the harbour cruise was fenominal Having been a fan of yours for a long time now it was great to do some serious rockin on the harbour . Ive got to say kb your music is like a good wine it just seems to get better with age (no offence to you of coarse lol) I do hope that this cruise will be one of many to come . Oh and by the way its also good to see that you are playing in cronulla soon i sure will be there , its a pitty you dont play in the shire more often . Anyhow keep rockin kev and next time i see you live i do hope you play GONNA SEE MY BABY TONIGHT1!!!!!!!!! what a classic . cheers
Last sunday was fantastic. Kev is by far the greatest entertainer of any kind ever to set foot on the stages of this world. The drummer on sunday night was awsome, he jelled with Kev perfectly. Will we see more of him?
I have been listening to the Big Kahuna on the train. ( It's a fair hike from the Central Coast to the City) You know , every time I listen it just keeps getting better. Big thumbs up.
Thanks again for getting Kevin to sign my CD's. I can't stop playing them..
Thank Kev for the words...it has been a sad sad week. I'm no Christian, but Shirl and Ted deserve something after this life...then again that's what makes us all get the most out of this, our only proven life. At least their music goes on.
Sad loss.....anyway keep rocking as youre music lifts alot of peoples hearts. Your music stands alone....
Sad news about Ted - sounds like KB did him proud on stage though - I would have expected nothing less. One of the most selfless people in rock I have ever met - keep slidin' Kev, and how about a jaunt to the East Coast of the US?!
I have received the CD's that I ordered, and I am enjoying listening to them very much. My son has also picked up on the music and has been trying to work out the riffs etc to some of the songs on the "Live at the Big Kahuna", Vol 2, which is my favourite CD of the three I purchased from you.
my sister and I were at Kangaroo Point and had a ball. your set was awesome, and we grooved to the max. my sister has cancer, and she is battling at the moment. she loves grooving to you, and was up on the dance floor with her walking stick doing her best. I am having a tough time coming to terms with what may be ahead, and your message here has helped me to see a different picture about what happens when we check out of the big hotel. I have been a muso most of my life (married two of them) and am now doing some jazz singing. love being at your gigs, you, harry, mark, lucius are a knock out - I am in awe of your talent.
Mark Kennedy

Harry Brus

YOU GUYS ROCK
Kev, was great to hear you play again - such a blast from the past - everyone is playing so well !
Sorry to hear about Ted Mulrey passing away. Whats the world coming to, Shirley first and then TM. Better stay out of the skies Kev. I was a real fan of TMG and SKYHOOKS. Saw them many times when I lived in Sydney. You take great care of your self and can u pass on my condolences to the TMG clan/family.
The loss of two great musicians is very bad news. It must be very difficult for you as they were both friends. Ted was a great musician and the Gimme Ted concert made people even more aware of his talents. Anyway keep rocking as youre music lifts alot of peoples hearts. Your music stands alone....
Thanks for the welcome Jennifer..I've been a fan of Kevins for as long as I can remember. I learnt and played his version of All Along the Watchtower when I was younger because his version was more clean and honest. I still play in band here in Adelaide and hope to meet up with Kevin one day..He still is the best...
The first time I heard u play was at the Runaway Bay Tavern, five to six years ago. I love your music! Since then u have inspired me to purchase a Fender Stratocaster Duluxe. I have never played a guitar in my life. I am getting lesson and haven't looked back. Please let us know when u are playing on the Gold Coast. Yours Truly
Kev wholehartedly blows me away every time. I can`t say enough about just how fantastic Kev and his band are. Thanks for the Australia CD. It is very solid. It was a top night ... Let me end this with my standard call, more albums, more murchandise, more albums, more murchandise and on and on
Just a short email to see if you could inform us when you will be visiting the Gold or The Sunshine Coast, I am eager to come to another gig..
Where can I get hold of the EMI releases of the first two KBE CD's? I have been waiting for years for them to come out and now I can not find them...
Remember to let me know if you guys come to the Gold Coast!!!!!!!!
I look forward to receiving the CD's as I have been a fan of the music played by the Kevin Borich Express, the La De Das and Kevin Borich in solo form since the early seventies.
I think a New Year's resolution has to be made ... come to Melbourne Kev !!!
I first saw the express perform on a Tuesday night at the Bondi Lifesaver back in about 1977 ( I moved to Perth in 1978) I will keep an eye on the web site to see if I can catch a performance hopefully in Perth or when I am in "the east".
thanks for the Heartstarter CD - I am really getting into it... and now I know why you called it heartstarter!
when is kevin touring back up here on the central coast?we are in need of some good rock and roll,to get us thru xmas. hope to see kevin soon
Looks like my wife and I will have to fly up from Melbourne to see you. Will be FANTASTIC to catch up with you guys after all this time
gettin'down with a fellow dinosaur
Hayden (our boy in UK) has been cranking up KB Live at the Blue Anchor Hammersmith - same pub where "Sliding Doors" with Gynneth Paltrow was made. Says KB has many new fans, is loved there & have asked for kevins website. One young punk guitarist from Germany thinks he's filth!
we are musicians like U down at eastybeach Corrimal, the only difference is we don't have 30yrs experiance in rock n' roll to draw from. U are most welcome anytime to pop in, check out our gear, our music live in the loungeroom. We rocked to your riffs & melodies (there isn't enough of these elements in today's rock), at your last Corrimal Leagues Performance, 2000. U inspired us to write & structure our music towards a more traditional/classic rockblues roots, especially when you play slide guitar.(Monstrous slide riffs - we love'm). Looking forward to Fri Nov 2001 at Corrimal Leagues once again
my good fishin mate k.b. well once again another great concert and i must say i was absolutley stocked that kev and i finially went fishin onya kb cant wait for the next gig i wonder what the catch of the day will be then ! Keep up the great gigs kev and hope too see u again real soon hopefully in the sutherland shire cheers . Your great fishin mate
I have received the CD's that I ordered, and I am enjoying listening to them very much. My son has also picked up on the music and has been trying to work out the riffs etc to some of the songs on the "Live at the Big Kahuna", Vol 2, which is my favourite CD of the three I purchased from you. I have been a fan of the style of music played by KB for many years but not only because of the music. About thirty years ago, I was like many teenagers at the time trying to jam with mates in garages, playing Cream, Hendrix etc and not being very good at it. One of my mates was the envy of us all because he owned a genuine white Fender Stratocaster AND a 40 watt Golden Tone amp and ended up playing in a group called Atlas, that did covers of Santana and Cream songs. In that band were two brothers, one John Annis on drums (who I believe used to pack panty hose in a factory in Brunswick as his day job)and his brother on bass guitar. You know where John ended up playing. There is a link however vague.
our boys like blasting KB & they pinch our records and CD's and drive us mental wondering if we'll get them back - " that bloke called Borich" has a bit to answer for!!!!! Did KB blast them away at Ulladulla!!!!!!! and will there be another great KB Harbour Cruise coming up soon.
Saw KB at Batemans Bay 17 Nov .... Fantastic show ... & Harry Brus was AWESOME!!!!!! KB's still got it!!
Corrimal Leagues Club for a sensational two sets from Kevin Borich with Harry Brus on bass and Mark Kennedy on drums.. standing room only and a packed dance floor from the opening minutes as the Kevin Borich Express turned in one of the best performances they have done for a long time. Should have been recorded live..

G'day Borich & Co. I'm a 21yrs old and have been listening to Kev since I was 17, I heard that Kevin is playing The Healer this month so I got out The Big Kahuna and have been thrashing it. I have introduced the sounds to my mates and they'll be at The Healer as well, I can't wait to hear "Angels Hand"I hope he p[lays it. See ya at The Healer ROLL ON!

Recieved the KB Australia CD yesterday. Should we start calling Kevin 'JIMI'? This is as close as to sounding like Hendrix that you'll get...most impressed. Once again THANKS
Thanks for letting us know about Kevin coming down to Newcastle's Phoenix Club. We'll be there with our Christmas Bells on !! There will be a group of us coming and I hope we get a chance to talk to Mr Borich as we have some keen guitarists among us.
had a ball last night, thanks for introducing me to Harry, he's THE coolest. I picked up the bass in 90/91, after seeing him play......... I'm sitting down learning some of Kev's tune's over christmas.
....could you please send any information regarding Kevin. You know how much we love him.
We went to a show of yours at Sanctuary Point and got the other CDs that night but we need these CDs to complete the set so far. It will be great if you could do a favour for me and sign them for my boyfriend.
Saw Kevin last night at Woombye Pub (20/12) sensational.
England have EC America Buddy Guy and we have KB
Just wanted to let u guys know how much we loved the concert today, 23/12. You were amazing as usual, also the doc, bass player was absolutely fantastic. we are so disgusted at the RSL for giving in to that whingey whiney bunch of no hopers at the pokies . How dare they complain about you being too loud. they are just old narrowminded, people that shouldnt have a say in a great artist doing his stuff. we complained bitterley to the people there about it but I just wanted u to know that that was only 1 percent of the peoples view. YOU WERE BLOODY FANTASTIC - AS USUAL. KEEP IT UP. WILL GO AND SEE U ANYWHERE. I'VE FOLLOWED U SINCE THE EXPRESS DAYS IN THE PUBS IN MELBOURNE AND ALWAYS LOVED YOUR MUSIC. MUCH APPRECIATED CONCERT TODAY. THANKS.
I wanted to hear you to see how much practice I would need to do for the jam we discussed. I came away thinking about 20 years should do it! I was living in America at the height of your fame so knew you more by reputation than knowledge. Didn't realise you were so damn hot! I can punch out better solo's than allot of players I hear but you're in a different league altogether. Thus I'm reluctant to waste your time on a jam with a "weekend" player such as myself.
I really enjoyed Kev's show! I watched and danced in awe of him and his talented musicians.

And that KB Big Kahuna is being blasted 24hrs (says our son) they love Canefield "when your driving through QLD" and his Swedish girlfriend loves his music to So KB will have to keep boogieing for these 21 and 22 year olds!!!!

let 2002 be the year that this time next year we can say we all got our wishes we all hoped to get!!
